LONDON — Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., won a bronze medal in the women’s three-metre springboard event Saturday at a FINA World Series diving competition.

It was Canada’s second bronze medal of the competition. On Friday, Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal and Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., were third in the women’s 10-metre synchronized competition.

China’s He Zi was first with 360.15 points, with compatriot Han Wang second with 359.00. Ware followed with 335.25.

"I was feeling pretty stressed about this competition because it counts towards team qualifying for the World Cup and Commonwealth Games," said Ware. "It was a tough week of practice so when I finished it was really emotional.

"I think for the upcoming meets I’ll feel less stressed and that will help my diving."

Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., was a season-best fifth with 321.60.
