TORONTO — Middleweight Chris (All American) Weidman will take on Mark (The Filipino Wrecking Machine) Munoz in the five-round main event of a televised UFC event July 11.
The venue has yet to be announced.
Weidman (8-0 including 4-0 in the UFC) replaced the injured Munoz on a televised UFC card in January. After a shuffle of fights, Weidman won a unanimous decision over Brazil’s Demian Maia.
Munoz (12-2 including 7-2 in the UFC) also defeated Maia last June at UFC 131.
Both Munoz and Weidman both came into MMA with an excellent wrestling pedigree.
Munoz was an NCAA champion at Oklahoma State. Weidman was a two-time junior college All-American.
