MONTREAL — Recently retired Olympic diving champion Alexandre Despatie is moving from the pool to morning television.

City TV Montreal announced this morning Despatie will co-host the local “Breakfast Television” show as of August along with local journalist Joanne Vrakas.

Despatie, who turns 28 on Saturday, announced his retirement from competitive diving earlier this week.

He won a mountain of medals on the international scene during his 15-year career, including a silver medal on the three-metre springboard at each of the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games.

City Montreal, which is owned by Rogers Communications, launched in Montreal last February.
