Guillard vs. Cerrone set for UFC 150 in Denver

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced Friday that a dynamic lightweight matchup between Donald Cerrone and Melvin Guillard is set for UFC 150.

Cerrone (18-4, 1 NC) has won seven of his last eight bouts and is coming off a dominant unanimous decision win over Jeremy Stephens at a UFC on FUEL event in May. Cerrone’s only career losses have come to top UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz and former WEC champions Ben Henderson and Jamie Varner.

Guillard (30-10-2, 1 NC) meanwhile snapped a two-fight losing streak after beating Fabricio Camoes by unanimous decision at UFC 148 last Saturday. Nine of Guillard’s 10 losses have come by way of submission and Cerrone has won 13 of his 18 fights by submission.

The two men are former teammates as well. Cerrone and Guillard trained together for years with Greg Jackson’s team but recently Guillard left and joined the Blackzilians in Florida.

UFC 150 takes place Aug. 11 in Denver and is headlined by a lightweight title bout between Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar.
