Kevin Martin earned his 12th provincial title after edging Kevin Koe 5-4 in extra ends of the Alberta Boston Pizza Cup final on Sunday in Leduc, Alta.
The Edmonton rink eased their final rock to the button in the 11th for the single point and the win.
Koe tried to score two to win the championship in the 10th but the go-ahead stone rolled away and the Calgary team had to settle for one to tie it 4-4.
Martin will represent Alberta in the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier starting March 2 at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
After Martin blanked the opening end, both teams alternated singles.
But Martin regained the one-point lead in the fourth until Koe tied it in the fifth and went ahead with a steal in sixth.
Martin scored one in the seventh and stole a single in the eighth to grab a 4-3 lead. Koe blanked the ninth to take the hammer into the 10th.
