Matt Hamill has decided to come out of retirement and will meet Canadian Roger Hollett at UFC 152 in Toronto on Sept. 22, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The popular light-heavyweight announced his retirement last August after he was handily knocked out by Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 133. Prior to that the Ultimate Fighter season 3 veteran lost a unanimous decision to Quinton Jackson in the main event at UFC 130.
Technically, Hamill is the only fighter to defeat current light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, but Hamill only won that fight after Jones was disqualified for illegal elbow strikes.
Hollett (13-3) is a native of Halifax and is currently riding a five-fight win streak. In his last bout he defeated John Hawk by split decision at Bellator 57 in November.
UFC 152 takes place at the Air Canada Centre and features the first ever UFC flyweight title match between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson, plus Michael Bisping vs. Brian Stann and Rory MacDonald vs. BJ Penn.
