TORONTO — Canadian bantamweight Ivan Menjivar will take on Nick Pace at UFC 133 this summer in Philadelphia.
The 135-pounder from Montreal improved to 22-8 last month with an impressive TKO of Charlie Valencia at UFC 129 in Toronto.
"Menjivar is coming off a devastating elbow KO win and Pace utilized a rarely seen type of submission to secure the victory in his last outing," UFC president Dana White said in a release.
Pace (6-1) stopped Will Compuzano via a modified triangle choke last time out. He was originally slated to fight Michael McDonald at UFC 133 on Aug. 6, but McDonald was shifted to next week’s UFC 130 card to fight Chris Cariaso.
In other news, Bart Palaszewski has had to pull out of UFC 130 because of injury. Gleison Tibau will now face lightweight Rafaello (Tractor) Oliveira.
Palaszewski was originally slated to meet Cody McKenzie, but the alumnus of "The Ultimate Fighter" was sidelined by injury.
