TORONTO — Canadian boxer Steve Molitor will look to continue his run of perfection as a professional fighter in the United Kingdom next month, as he prepares to face British and Commonwealth Super Bantamweight champion Jason Booth.

Molitor (32-1, 12 KOs) has won in each of his three UK-based fights. He will defend his title as the International Boxing Federation’s 122-pound champion.

“Fighting in the UK brings out the best in me,” Molitor said in a release. “The atmosphere is always electric, and the fans are so passionate.”

Molitor, from Sarnia, Ont., beat Booth’s younger brother, Nicky, in a previous trip to the UK eight years ago. Jason Booth has a record of 35-5, with 15 knockouts.

“I know Booth will leave it all in the ring on July 23rd,” Molitor said. “He wants my belt and some revenge for his brother. But I’m not leaving anything to chance. That title is coming back to Canada.”

The host city will be announced at a later date.

“The world title fight is such a bonus for me and now I want to win it so much,” Booth was quoted as saying on the BBC’s website. “I am so lucky to have the things I do in life now.”
