Cote (17-8) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Cung Le at UFC 148 in July. Although the 32-year-old has won four of five bouts, he has lost his last four fights in the UFC dating back to 2008.
Sakara (15-9, 1 NC) has lost two straight fights — a decision to Chris Weidman last March and he was KO’d by Brian Stann in April.
UFC 154 is expected to be headlined by a welterweight title bout between Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit.
