Three-time Saskatchewan champion Bruce Korte fell 7-4 against Regina’s Brock Virtue in the SaskTel Provincial Mens Championship final on Sunday afternoon at Melfort Arena in Melfort, Sask.
Virtue scored two in the third end to go ahead before Korte rallied with a double of his own to reclaim the lead. Virtue went ahead again with a deuce in the sixth end and extended his lead with another pair in the seventh.
Korte, from Muenster, Sask., held on 6-4 against Virtue in the Page 1-2 playoff on Saturday. Virtue then edged Kevin Marsh 8-6 in the semifinal to set up the rematch.
Virtue will now represent Saskatchewan in the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier starting March 2 in Edmonton.
