COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Swiss cyclist Thomas Frei has completed a two-year doping ban and joined a Danish team with another doping-tainted rider, Michael Rasmussen.

Danish watch designer Christina Hembo says Frei signed with her second-tier UCI professional team Christina Watches.

Frei finished a two-year ban on April 21, after he was caught in an out-of-competition test and admitted doping with the banned blood-booster EPO on two other occasions. Frei was riding for the United States-backed BMC Racing team when he was banned.

Rasmussen led the 2007 Tour de France when he was kicked off the Rabobank team for lying about his whereabouts when he missed pre-race doping tests. The Dane was banned for two years.
