UFC lovers will be able to purchase a nice little gift just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The UFC on Monday announced ticket-sale dates for the mixed martial arts organization’s second foray into Canada scheduled for April 18 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Tickets for UFC 97: Redemption will be available for purchase by UFC Fight Club members on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at noon ET. UFC.com newsletter subscribers will get a chance to purchase them at noon on Friday, while the general public will have to wait until Saturday, Feb. 14 for their chance.
If sales for the first show in Canada, UFC 83: St. Pierre vs. Serra 2, which took place April 19, 2008, are any indication, there won’t be many left to buy come Saturday. The debut event in Canada had the fastest sellout in UFC history, with most going within the first 24 hours of the Fight Club pre-sale. Roughly 1,000 tickets remained for the general public sale and they were gone within one minute.
The main event will feature a middleweight title bout between champion Anderson (The Spider) Silva and Thales Leites. The other featured bout sees popular veteran and former light-heavyweight belt-holder Chuck (The Iceman) Liddell taking on Mauricio (Shogun) Rua.
The following are other bouts confirmed by Sportsnet:
Jason MacDonald vs. Nate Quarry
Mark Bocek vs. David Bielkheden
