Before Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin step into the Octagon in the main event at UFC 147 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on Saturday night, fans can watch live preliminary fights on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
The prelims feature a handful of bouts that are between cast members of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil.
Strikeforce veteran Rodrigo Damm takes on Anistavio (Gasparzinho) Medeiros in a featherweight bout; middleweight knockout artists Francisco (Massaranduba) Drinaldo and Delson (Pe de Chumbo) Heleno meet; Leonardo (Macarrao) Mafra Teixeira takes on Thiago de Oliveira Perpetuo at 185 pounds; and John (Macapa) Teixeira fights Hugo (Wolverine) Viana at a 150-pound catchweight because Teixeira missed weight.
Prior to Sportsnet’s broadcast fans can watch Marcos Vinicius vs. Wagner Campos, and Felipe Arantes vs. Milton Vieira on the UFC’s Facebook page starting at approximately 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
The main card begins at 10 p.m. ET and is available on pay-per-view. It features Silva taking on Franklin at a 190-pound catchweight; a heavyweight matchup that sees top contender Fabricio Werdum looking to hand the durable Mike Russow his first UFC loss; TUF Brazil middleweight final Cezar (Mutante) Ferreira vs. Sergio (Serginho) Moraes and TUF Brazil featherweight final Rony (Jason) Mariano Bezerra vs. Godofredo (Pepey) de Oliveira; plus dynamic 145-pounder Yuri Alcantara welcomes Hacran Dias to the UFC.
