The Dallas Mavericks have won the NBA Draft Lottery, despite having just a 1.8-per-cent chance of emerging with the top pick.
The Toronto Raptors entered the draw with the seventh-best odds (7.5 per cent) of jumping to No. 1 and presumably selecting Duke standout Cooper Flagg. Instead, they will pick ninth.
The Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets had the best odds of securing the No. 1 overall pick, each with a 14-per-cent chance. All the while, the Philadelphia 76ers were at risk of losing their pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder if they dropped any lower than sixth. However, the 76ers actually moved up to third.
