The NBA's new USA vs. World format resulted in the most competitive All-Star Game basketball we've seen in years.
In its 75th edition, the league pitted the United States against the rest of the world, and young versus old, in an effort to draw out the competitive juices that the annual showcase had severely lacked in recent years.
We didn't get a USA vs. World final, as Team World dropped both their round-robin games, but all three of the preliminary contests were decided by a single possession. The endless lobs of past were fun, but tactics and buzzer beaters are better.
