Memphis Grizzlies centre Zach Edey is being recognized for his strong rookie season.
The Toronto native was named Tuesday to the 2024–25 NBA All-Rookie First Team.
He joins NBA Rookie of the Year winner Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs, Zaccharie Risacher of the Atlanta Hawks, Alex Sarr of the Washington Wizards and his own teammate, Jaylen Wells.
Edey, 23, averaged 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season while making 55 starts in 66 appearances. He shot .580 from the field and .709 from the free throw line.
The seven-foot-four, 305-pound former Purdue star was drafted ninth overall by the Grizzlies in 2023.
Edey (73 first-team votes, 27 second-team votes) joined Castle and Risacher as the only players to appear somewhere on all 100 ballots. Wells was on 99 ballots, Sarr was on 96 and Ware was on 94.
Named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team were Matas Buzelis of the Chicago Bulls, Bub Carrington of the Wizards, Donovan Clingan of the Portland Trail Blazers, Yves Missi of the New Orleans Pelicans and Kel’el Ware of the Miami Heat.
