The Cleveland Cavaliers have been fined $100,000 for violating the league's Player Participation Policy, the NBA announced Tuesday.
The violation occurred when the Cavaliers rested both Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley against the Miami Heat on Nov. 12.
The policy states that all star players must be available for all nationally televised and In-Season Tournament games.
Both Mitchell and Mobley are considered star players under the NBA's act. The league considers star players those who were named to an All-NBA or All-Star team in the previous three seasons.
The Player Participation Policy has been in effect since prior to the 2023-24 season, and is meant to get more participation in regular-season games.
Cleveland is second in the East with a 10-5 record.
