The Boston Celtics will be down to eight players, with seven of them shelved due to the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, for their Sunday night matchup with the Miami Heat.
The team announced that stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum along with Javonte Green, Semi Ojeleye, Tristan Thompson, Grant Williams and Robert Williams will be out due to the league’s novel coronavirus practices. Additionally, Romeo Langford and Kemba Walker are sidelined because of right wrist surgery and a left knee injury, respectively.
The Athletic‘s Shams Charania reported Saturday that Tatum was expected to quarantine and miss 10 to 14 days of action due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
Earlier Sunday, the Dallas Mavericks were reportedly forced to shut down their practice facility after the team’s second positive test in three days.
