Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley sent out an apology on Twitter after shoving Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul during Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.
A timeout was called on the floor right after Paul hit a three-pointer that gave the Suns a 26-point lead in what ended up being a series-clinching win for Phoenix. Beverley shoved Paul in the back as players were going to their respective benches. He received a technical foul and was ejected in the fourth quarter.
The 32-year-old said in the tweet that "emotions got the best of" him during the incident and wished Paul the "best of luck" in the Finals.
@CP3 emotions got the best of me last night gang. My bad wasn’t meant for you. Congrats on making it to the Finals. Best of Luck

Suns forward Jae Crowder chimed in on the event, saying he believed Beverley's actions were what sealed the Clippers' eventual downfall.
"We know they were broke. We know we broke them," Crowder told reporters after Game 6.
Phoenix went on to earn a 130-103 blowout victory to clinch a 4-2 series win and a berth in the 2021 NBA Finals against either the Atlanta Hawks or Milwaukee Bucks.
