Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris was ejected from Sunday afternoon’s game against the Dallas Mavericks after committing a foul on Dallas guard Luka Doncic.
With just over a minute remaining in the first quarter, Doncic drove to the net, where he got tangled up with Morris. As Doncic attempted to put up a shot, Morris brought his right arm down and appeared to strike Doncic at or near the head.
Doncic fell to the floor, then immediately rose to confront Morris. Dallas teammate Boban Marjanovic restrained Doncic, while a few Clippers players joined in to stand in front of Morris.
In five playoff games entering Sunday, Morris is averaging 13.6 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Clippers. He joined the team in February as part of a three-team trade involving the New York Knicks (his previous team) and the Washington Wizards.
The Clippers led 27-25 at the time of the foul. They lead the series, 3-2, and can advance to the semifinals with a win on Sunday.
