Thursday was always going to be a wild day with the NBA with the free-agent moratorium period opening at 6 p.m. ET. But three hours before that, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN rocked the sports world with news that Kevin Durant had requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

Fans quickly rushed to social media to react to the drama — and to pitch their favourite teams to Durant. After all, while he is turning 34 before the season, the future Hall of Famer remains a top-10 player in the league and by being under contract for four years, will instantly make his new team a contender.

Needless to say, this trade is going to be massive.

Here are some of the best reactions.
