The Miami Heat will be without star guard Jimmy Butler when they host the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday night, head coach Erik Spoelstra announced.
Butler was considered doubtful to play after suffering a right ankle injury in the Heat’s season opener last week against the Orlando Magic. He attempted a comeback against the New Orleans Pelicans on Christmas Day but was forced out of the game at halftime after aggravating the injury.
Despite the early injury trouble, Butler has still been an effective player for the defending Eastern Conference champions early this season. In the two games, he’s averaging 11.5 points, four steals and six assists.
