Bruno Caboclo is now two years away from being "two years away from being two years away," but Houston Rockets are giving him another chance to realize his potential.
The Rockets announced Thursday that they've re-signed the 25-year-old forward, about whom ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla made the infamous comments after he was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 20th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Houston did not release the length and the terms of the agreement.
Caboclo never panned out in Toronto and was traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2018. He has since bounced back and forth between the Grizzlies and Rockets. He averaged 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 30 games last season, with the majority spent in Memphis and eight in Houston after a Feb. 6 trade.
His best season came in 2018-19, when he averaged career-highs of 8.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists for the Grizzlies.
