One day after a report said Zion Williamson was expected to miss the rest of the season with a lingering foot injury, the New Orleans Pelicans star posted a video of him dunking in an Instagram story on Tuesday night.
On Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Williamson was not likely to play at all this season.
Williamson, 21, has not played a game this season after undergoing surgery on a broken right foot in the summer. The 2021 All-Star was initially planning to make a return in December, but a series of setbacks have kept him out of the lineup.
Williamson is able to put weight on his foot and has been cleared to resume basketball activities by the Pelicans, but Charania reported the remaining 11 games "leaves an improbable window" for Williamson to complete ramp-up stages.
The team said earlier this month he was making improvements and would gradually progress to full weight-bearing exercises and basketball activities.
The first overall pick in 2019 has battled injuries throughout his career and has played just 85 NBA games.
