"It's go time."
That was at least the message sent by a cryptic tweet from the Philadelphia 76ers Friday, pointing to James Harden's debut after a blockbuster deadline-day deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
You can watch Harden's first game on SN NOW beginning at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
Harden's much-anticipated debut has been delayed by a hamstring injury that has cost him the last eight games -- bookending the trade.
While Brooklyn has not been the force some thought they would be before the season, Harden continues to put up big numbers on offence. In 44 games with the Nets the former MVP is averaging 22.5 points, eight rebounds and 10.2 assists this year.
However, Harden was unhappy with his role in Brooklyn and indirectly indicated he would prefer to play for the 76ers. Coincidently, Philadelphia had a disgruntled star guard too and the two teams were able to come to an agreement.
When asked earlier Friday about how he expects to fit in with Harden, all-star centre Joel Embiid sounded optimistic that the two won't need long to get used to playing together.
"I mean, it's funny, you see all the stories that are out there, and all that stuff, and obviously we all see it," Embiid told reporters, according to ESPN. "It's completely different than what you see out there. He's a great person, a great personality, always smiling, fun to be around. Everything, really.
"His presence on the team, and on the floor, has really changed a lot since he got here. So I'm just excited for that to continue on the court and I think that's going to help us a lot."
