Utah Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell is set for a return to the lineup Wednesday for Game 2 against the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced Monday.
Mitchell said he was “ready to go” and had been cleared for Game 1, but ultimately sat out the 112-109 loss to the No. 8 seed Grizzlies.
The 24-year-old suffered an ankle sprain on April 16 and was sidelined for the last 16 games of the regular season.
Before his injury, Mitchell was averaging 26.4 points and 5.2 assists on 43.8 per cent shooting as the Jazz took command of the Western Conference and finished in first place.
