The New York Knicks were fined $25,000 for violating league injury reporting rules with centre Mitchell Robinson, the league announced on Monday.
According to the NBA's press release, the Knicks failed to accurately report Robinson's availability ahead of their game against the Toronto Raptors on March 27.
He was listed as "out" in their initial injury report but was subsequently made available ahead of the game.
Robinson had missed over three months of NBA action after undergoing ankle surgery for an injury suffered against the Boston Celtics on Dec. 8.
The outing against the Raptors was his first game back. He finished with eight points, two rebounds and two blocks in 12 minutes in the 145-101 win.
Robinson is averaging 5.7 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks this season and has averaged 3.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks since returning from injury.
New York is 46-32 and sits in fourth in the Eastern Conference.
