The New York Knicks' superstar ended his night a bit early.
Point guard Jalen Brunson left Wednesday's game against the Sacramento Kings with a right ankle injury and was later ruled out, the team announced.
Brunson played only five minutes before heading to the bench, recording four points.
Brunson came into Wednesday's game seventh in the NBA in points per game, averaging 28.9, as well as 6.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds.
His status for the Knicks' game Thursday at Golden State is uncertain.
Brunson missed two games with a sprained right ankle in November and a month with the same injury late in the 2024-25 season.
A two-time all-star, Brunson led the Knicks to their first NBA Cup win earlier this season and won tournament MVP.
The Knicks (25-14) sat second in the Eastern Conference heading into Wednesday's contest, 3.5 games back of the Detroit Pistons.
