The NBA announced Wednesday that Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have each been fined $35,000 for violating league rules governing media interview access.

Irving has apparently refused to be available for post-game media availability on a number of different occasions this season, resulting in the NBA's decision to fine the seven-time All-Star and his team.

The point guard has played in 49 games for the Nets, averaging 27 points and 6.3 assists per game. Brooklyn currently sits second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 43-23, and is just 1.5 games back of the first-seed Philadelphia 76ers.
