Los Angeles Lakers centre Dwight Howard and shooting guard Malik Monk have entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, the team announced Tuesday night.
Both players will miss Wednesday’s game when the Lakers take on the Dallas Mavericks.
Howard and Monk join their teammate Talen Horton-Tucker, who also entered the health and safety protocols on Tuesday.
The Lakers cancelled practice on Tuesday before flying out to Dallas for Wednesday’s game. Monk flew with the team and according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Lakers have arranged transport back to Los Angeles. Howard did not make the trip to Dallas with the team.
Howard is averaging 5.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists through 25 games played this season. Monk has averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists through 28 games played.
