Lu Dort has his priorities straight.
The Atlanta Hawks guard would rather win Olympic gold for Canada than an NBA title.
"Because Canada has obviously has given my family a great opportunity to have a better life," Dort told longtime NBA player Serge Ibaka on his How Hungry Are You? series.
Ibaka appeared surprised by Dort's answer, and asked again to confirm. The Montreal native did so with one word.
"Yes."
Of course, Dort, 27, already has an NBA championship ring, having won alongside fellow Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025.
What he doesn't own is an Olympic gold medal, but he did compete for Team Canada as the men's team returned to the Games for the first time in 24 years at Paris 2024 before falling to host France in the quarterfinals.
Dort was also part of the Canadian team that broke through for its first podium appearance ever at the World Cup by capturing bronze in 2023.
He was traded from the Thunder to the Hawks this off-season, where he will team with Canadian Nickeil Alexander-Walker under Edmonton-raised general manager Onsi Saleh.
