The Dallas Mavericks set a record for most points in a quarter in an NBA Christmas Day game when they scored 51 in the third quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
The previous high was 45, set by the Lakers in 1961 against the Cincinnati Royals.
The Mavericks also tied their franchise record for most points in a quarter.
Dallas outscored Los Angeles 51-21 in the quarter after trailing 54-43 at halftime.
