The NBA's most promising young players will face off during All-Star weekend's Rising Stars Challenge.
We now know who will play against who, as the team rosters were announced Tuesday. Chris Mullin, Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway Sr. each drafted seven players from the pool of 21 rookies and sophomores, while Jeremy Lin will lead the team of seven G League players.
The rosters are as follows:
Team Chris: Stephon Castle, Ryan Dunn, Zach Edey, Keyonte George, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Dalton Knecht, Jaylen Wells.
Team Mitch: Toumani Camara, Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly, Scoot Henderson, Yves Missi, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson.
Team Tim: Anthony Black, Tristan da Silva, Gradey Dick, Jamie Jaquez Jr. Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr Cason Wallace.
Team Jeremy: JD Davidson, Mac McClung, Bryce McGowens, Leonard Miller, Dink Pate, Reed Sheppard, Pat Spencer.
Toronto Raptors sophomore Gradey Dick will make his first appearance in the game. He is in the midst of a breakout season, averaging 15.7 points and shooting nearly 35 per cent from three.
Canada basketball will also be well represented with the Memphis Grizzlies' Zach Edey and the Minnesota Timberwolves' Leonard Miller.
Edey, a Toronto native, was the ninth pick in the 2024 draft. The seven-foot-four big man is averaging 9.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 33 games.
Miller, a 2023 second-round pick, has appeared in only 21 NBA games in his two seasons. The Thornhill, Ont., native has primarily played for the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League this season, averaging 24.4 points and 11.8 rebounds a game.
The Rising Stars is a one-night tournament featuring four rosters of seven players each. Teams will play semifinal games where the first to 40 points wins; those semifinal winners will then play in a championship game, with the winning team being the first one to 25 points.
The winning team in the Rising Stars tournament will be the fourth team in the All-Star Game, alongside three teams of NBA players.
