Nuggets' Murray fined $25K for striking Mavericks' Hardaway Jr. in groin

Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray has been fined $25,000 for striking Tim Hardaway Jr. in the groin area during the third quarter of the team's Jan. 25 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA announced Wednesday.

The incident, for which Murray received a flagrant-two foul and was ejected, happened with 4:51 left in the third of the Nuggets' 117-113 win.

The Kitchener, Ont., product is averaging a career-best 19.3 points per game along with 3.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists across 16 games for the Nuggets this season.
