The Indiana Pacers have selected two Canadian players in the 2022 NBA Draft after Gonzaga guard Andrew Nembhard was selected with pick No. 31.
Earlier in the night the Pacers selected Montreal-native Bennedict Mathurin sixth-overall.
Nembhard, 22, is a six-foot-four point guard with strong playmaking abilities.
The Aurora, Ont., native spent four years in college and has experience with the Canadian national team at multiple levels.
“I think you just want to focus on yourself,” Nembhard said before the draft. “You want to control the controllables. You want to not worry about other people's journeys. Just worry about yourself and your pace and when your time comes and want to be ready.”
