Jordan Poole will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days after being diagnosed with a mild left vastus lateralis (quad) strain, the New Orleans Pelicans announced via X on Friday.
Poole, who is in his first year as a Pelican, is averaging 18.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and three assists per game this season.
He has been the team's second-leading scorer behind Zion Williamson, who is also sidelined for at least seven to 10 days with a strained hamstring.
Pelicans head coach Willie Greene has used Poole in multiple positions since arriving in New Orleans, including point guard, shooting guard and sixth man.
Poole will be out of the lineup Friday as the Pelicans head to Texas to take on the San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center.
The seven-year veteran last played during Tuesday's 116-112 win against the Charlotte Hornets but was not involved in Wednesday's win over the Dallas Mavericks. He will remain out of action for at least a week.
