The Toronto Raptors are bringing some additional size into training camp.
Seven-foot-five centre Jamarion Sharp was signed by the Raptors and is joining camp, the team announced Monday.
To make room on the roster, the Raptors waived guard Chucky Hepburn.
The 25-year-old Sharp was the 2026 NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year, leading the league in blocks, turning aside 154 shots in 39 games played for the Texas Legends.
Sharp was previously with Toronto's Summer League squad and signed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Clippers after Summer League concluded. According to Sportsnet's Blake Murphy, there was interest from the Raptors to ink Sharp to a two-way deal of their own at the end of Summer League.
He'll now get a chance to audition for the Raptors, properly, in training camp.
As Murphy later reported, Sharp hasn't yet been signed to a two-way contract by Toronto yet. He also noted, that Hepburn could still stay in Toronto's two-way contract mix as the 23-year-old point guard is still eligible to join Raptors 905, and could opt to rehab with the team there after suffering a hamstring injury on Saturday.
Hepburn signed a two-way contract with the Raptors last off-season, appeared in two games for Toronto, and also played 19 games for the G League's Raptors 905, where he averaged 12.3 points, 8.8 assists and 2.3 steals before undergoing season-ending knee surgery.
Toronto plays its first pre-season game at Scotiabank Arena Tuesday against the New York Knicks at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet+.
