The No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, Collin Murray-Boyles, finally made his much-anticipated Toronto Raptors (Summer League) debut on Sunday.
The 20-year-old missed Toronto's Las Vegas opener against the Chicago Bulls last Friday, getting scratched from the lineup just before tip-off due to a left adductor strain.
His stint on the sideline was short-lived, however, as the rookie forward started against the Orlando Magic on Sunday as the Raptors pulled out an 89-86 victory and improved to 2-0 at Summer League.
After a slow start to his first pro appearance, making just one of his first three shots, Murray-Boyles picked up his production as the game progressed. He finished with eight points on 3-of-5 shooting to go with seven rebounds, three steals and eight fouls (players aren't disqualified until their 10th foul during Summer League).
His biggest moment of the ball game came in the third quarter when he pinned the ball off the backboard on defence and then immediately followed it up with a putback dunk off a Ja'Kobe Walter miss on the other end.
Murray-Boyles was selected by Toronto after two seasons with South Carolina. As a sophomore, he averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks while finishing with an SEC-leading 58.6 field-goal percentage and 59.9 effective field-goal percentage.
The Raptors return to Summer League action on Tuesday as they take on the Denver Nuggets.
