The Toronto Raptors' roster is closer to its opening-day form.
Centre Nate Bittle was converted to a two-way contract by the Raptors while five others have been waived, the team announced Saturday.
Guards Nimari Burnett, Jalen Celestine and Tyreke Key, forward Tyson Degenhart and centre Jamarion Sharp were all cut, though they could land back with the organization at the G League level with Raptors 905.
Bittle, an undrafted seven-foot rookie, did not play during the pre-season due to a foot injury.
The 23-year-old spent all five of his NCAA seasons playing for his native Oregon Ducks. He averaged a career-best 16.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks through 25 games last season.
The seven-foot, 250-pound centre attempted 4.5 threes per game, converting at a 31.9 per cent clip.
Bittle is also a former All-Big Ten selection and finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Centre of the Year award. He joins Malachi Smith as Raptors two-way players, leaving one spot available.
The Raptors' next game is their home opener, set for Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls.
