Despite Immanuel Quickley being sidelined on Friday, he is not expected to have a prolonged absence.
The Toronto Raptors guard has had a recent plantar fasciitis flare-up that has led to him missing the last two games and is keeping him out Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans (8:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. CT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+).
Raptors head coach Darko Rakajovic said that Quickley is not expected to fully rehab his injury pre-game on Friday.
"It is at a point now that it needs to be managed," Rajakovic said. "The best and the only way to get it completely healed is like not do anything for two, three, four weeks, obviously that's not gonna be the case with IQ. ... He's gonna be available to play."
Quickley is averaging 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and six assists on 44.5 per cent shooting through 67 games this season.
His availability could be essential as the Raptors hope to avoid the play-in and finish in the top six in the East. Toronto is currently sixth, sitting just a half-game ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers in seventh.
Jamal Shead is projected to slot into the starting lineup in Quickley's absence.
