Already suffering from a slow start this season, the Toronto Raptors will now have to contend with an injury to their starting centre.
Jakob Poeltl has been listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets as he deals with lower-back tightness, the team announced Tuesday.
Poeltl suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Raptors' loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
He played 24 minutes and went to the locker room early in the fourth before the team announced that he wouldn't return.
There wasn't one moment that seemed to force Poeltl from the contest, but the 30-year-old has been dealing with back pain since the pre-season.
On Monday, the Austrian big man shot just one-for-six from the field, scoring two points while grabbing two rebounds and handing out an assist. He also committed four turnovers and three fouls.
Entering the game against San Antonio, Poeltl had averaged 8.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the first three games of Toronto's season.
