The Toronto Raptors are adding former first-round pick David Roddy to their roster ahead of their Summer League tip-off, the team announced Thursday.
Roddy, 24, has reportedly signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the team, according to Sportsnet's Blake Murphy, and was a participant at Raptors practice on Thursday in Las Vegas.
However, Roddy will not play for the side at Summer League, as he was not listed on the team's official roster for the annual exhibition.
Over his three-year NBA career, Roddy has suited up for the Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers.
He averaged 4.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 33 games last season, splitting time between the Hawks, 76ers and Rockets.
Originally drafted 23rd overall by the 76ers, Roddy was shipped to the Grizzlies on draft night in a trade.
Formerly a standout player for Colorado State in the NCAA, Roddy averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 57.1 per cent from the field and 43.8 per cent from three-point range in his junior year with the Rams.
That proficiency from range hasn't translated to the NBA, as he's shooting 30.2 per cent from deep over his career.
The six-foot-five, 255-pound forward has averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 168 career NBA games.
