Toronto Raptors point guard Malachi Flynn has been assigned to the Raptors 905 of the G League, the team announced Wednesday.
Flynn, 22, was the Raptors’ top draft pick in 2020, as the 29th overall selection out of San Diego State. In 13 games this year, Flynn has come off the bench to average 8.2 minutes, 2.2 points, 1.2 assists and 0.7 rebounds per game — with a 34.6-per-cent effective shooting percentage.
Toronto has rostered Flynn all season, but he has not seen game action in four of their past eight games. With the Raptors set to play their next five games on the road, practice opportunities will be limited, and thus Flynn figures to receive more reps at the G League level.
On the 905, he’ll join fellow rookie Jalen Harris, who was selected 59th overall out of Nevada.
