Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet will be out for a second consecutive game due to right knee soreness on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls, while rookie Scottie Barnes (wrist swelling) is returning from a one-game absence.

The pair of starters missed Tuesday's 125-113 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

VanVleet is in the midst of an All-Star calibre campaign, averaging 21.7 points, 7.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals this season. The 27-year-old leads the Raptors in points and assists per game.

Barnes, making his case for rookie of the year, is averaging 14.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists, putting the 20-year-old rookie fifth in team-scoring and second in rebounding.

Toronto is 23-22 and eighth in the East.

The Raptors take on the second-place Bulls (29-17) beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet NOW.
