Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid will require surgery to repair ligaments in his right thumb, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The results of Embiid's MRI doesn't change the plans for the playoffs. The native of Cameroon will only undergo surgery once the Sixers' season is over.
Embiid and the 76ers are looking to eliminate the Toronto Raptors on home court in Game 5 on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT live on Sportsnet.
