Maybe it's not a full rebuild for the Nets.
Brooklyn has opted to re-sign centre Nic Claxton to a four-year, $100 million contract, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old has been an integral part of the Nets' rotation for the past two years and earned Defensive Player of the Year votes in the 2022-23 season. He averaged 11.8 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks last year.
Originally drafted 31st overall by the Nets in 2019, Claxton has grown from a predominantly G League player to a bench option to ultimately one of the most reliable bigs in the league and the top centre of this year's free agent class.
More to come.
