The Brooklyn Nets have signed power forward Darius Bazley to a one-year contract, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The terms of the deal have not yet been reported.
Bazley, a rangy former first-rounder (#23 overall to Utah in 2019), has shown flashes of potential while averaging 9.1 points, 1.2 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in 23.6 minutes across 228 games.
Bazley spent the first three seasons of his career with Oklahoma City before getting dealt to the Phoenix Suns at last season's trade deadline where he provided some depth for their ultimately short-lived postseason run.
Six-foot-eight with a seven-foot wingspan, Bazley figures into the Nets' recent strategy of going young and long — he joins Nic Claxton, Mikal Bridges, and Ben Simmons as players on the Nets roster who are 26 or younger with at least seven feet of wingspan.
