Cleveland Cavaliers guard Ricky Rubio is hoping to play for the first time since tearing his left ACL just over one year ago on Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Rubio suffered the injury while playing for the Cavs in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Dec. 28, 2021.
The Cavs traded the Spanish guard to the Indiana Pacers in February 2022, but he never played a game with that team.
Rubio signed a new three-year, $18 million deal with the Cavaliers this off-season.
The 32-year-old Rubio was averaging a career-best 13.1 points along with 6.6 assists in 34 games last season with Cleveland before suffering the injury.
