The Boston Celtics and centre Robert Williams have agreed to a four-year, $54-million contract, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Despite making just 13 career NBA starts, this deal puts Williams’ salary in the top half of earners among the league’s centres. The contract begins in 2022-23 after he completes the fourth and final year on his rookie contract.
Williams, 23, averaged eight points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 18.9 minutes across 52 games with the Celtics last season.
He was a first-round pick, 27th overall, in 2018.
