A former Raptors guard intends to keep his talents in South Beach.
Gritty point guard Davion Mitchell is set to re-sign with the Miami Heat on a two-year, $24 million deal, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Saturday.
Mitchell was traded to the Heat at the deadline this past season in a five-team deal that also netted Miami Andrew Wiggins. The Raptors received P.J. Tucker as part of the trade.
The 26-year-old guard upped his production once he arrived in Miami, averaging 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 30 regular-season games.
Overall on the season, with time split between the Raptors and Heat, Mitchell averaged 7.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and one steal in 74 games.
A native of Hinesville, Ga., Mitchell joined the Raptors after the 2023-24 season in a trade from the Sacramento Kings. He was originally selected by the Kings ninth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft and spent the first three seasons in the California capital.
